Giving Your Way is the Best Way

Heartland Habitat for Humanity is continually humbled by your generosity and anxious to work with you in whatever way you’re most comfortable giving. Here are some options you may want to consider:

By phone
Call (913) 342-3047 and make a donation with your credit card. With your phone donation, gift announcement cards acknowledging honorariums and memorials are also available.

Matching gifts
There’s a great chance your company may have a matching gift program that can double or even triple your tax-deductible contribution. Ask your HR office for details about your organization’s matching gift program.

Planned giving
Many partners support Heartland Habitat through planned gifts, which may qualify for significant tax deductions. Options include bequests, charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts. Download Heartland Habitat's Legacy Builders informational brochure for more information.

Stocks and bonds
By making a charitable gift of stocks or bonds, you give yourself an opportunity for tax savings. For example, a gift of stock owned for more than one year entitles you to a charitable deduction for the full market value at the time the gift is made. If the stock has appreciated, you’ll also avoid a capital gains tax on the appreciation. And, in addition to helping Heartland Habitat, you may diversify away from low-basis, long-term holdings into other assets that will better suit your current needs.
