Heartland Habitat for Humanity's success is dependent upon the commitment of local community partners. Partners who commit to a long-term partnership with Heartland Habitat are able to have the greatest impact on the community. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is one such partner.
Thrivent Financial is celebrating 15 years of partnering with Heartland Habitat for Humanity. In 2009, Thrivent's volunteer program "Thrivent Builds" sponsored two builds, one at 2540 Alden
and the other at 1133 N. 50th Place, both in Kansas City, KS. The Medina Family, who will soon benefit from the Alden build, is a family of four. They currently rent a small, mold-infested home but hope to move into their new Heartland Habitat home by the end of the year. The Johnson Family moved into their home on 50th Place earlier this year and look forward to their first Christmas in their new home.
"It's hard to imagine the tremendous impact that Thrivent Builds has had in our community over the last 15 years," said Tom Lally, Executive Director. "Their commitment of both volunteer and financial resources has touched the lives of hundreds of families. For that, we're incredibly grateful."
Thrivent Builds is a national partnership between Thrivent Financial and Habitat for Humanity International. For more information, visit http://www.thriventbuilds.com.
